The basic function of Tool Makers is to build or repair all types, sizes and shapes of plastic injection molds and to assemble and test complex tools and molds in production. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The principal duties and responsibilities of the Tool Maker consist of, but are not limited to, the following: • Reads and interprets blueprints or works from verbal or written instructions, sketches, or from the actual part to be copied or fitted. • Plans the setup and operation of various machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, and machine tool feeds and speeds. • Heat treats and welds parts as required. • Uses precision measuring and gauging tools, performing required inspections before, during, and after machining. • CNC machining • Uses hand tools of the trade for modifications as required. • Fits and assembles mold parts, tools, and dies. Duties & Responsibilities: Will be performing injection molding dimensional inspection. Verifies first piece and end of run samples. Evaluate parts, record results. Identify dimensional and visual defects using Quality Standard Check. Will complete and maintain records. To ensure all machines are supplied with the appropriate materials to maintain continuous production (raw material, packaging, skids, etc). Also, to ensure that raw materials, supplies, and finished goods are moved to their designated places in the facility. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The principal duties and responsibilities of the Materials Handler consist of, but are not limited to, the following: • Blend raw materials with color concentrates using the proper percentage calculation. • Supply raw material and packaging to machines to ensure continuous production.. • Check IQMS for inventory of materials and packaging. • Ensure grinders are properly cleaned, set up, and unloaded to prevent mixing of unlike materials (contamination). • Fill hoppers/loaders with appropriate material, clean any spills, and notify • Ensure that product is properly labeled before it is moved to the finished goods staging area. • Initiate action to prevent boxes/skids/gaylords from being labeled incorrectly. • Ensure that optimum amount of regrind is being utilized. • Communicate any machine or auxiliary equipment malfunctions to the Process Technician. • Various other duties as assigned.
